Is It Worth It?

I'm gonna warn everyone now that this is not going to be a funny or happy post. And it may seem like I'm being an attention-whore, but really, if you can't be an attention-whore on your own blog where can you?

Anyway, I've been thinking really hard about this blog and it really just hit me today that I don't know whether on not I want to continue blogging. Some people read the blog which is nice and all, but absolutely no one comments on anything I say and I have 1 follower (thank you Nichole). That sounds whiney, I know, but bear with me. Imagine if you spent this large amount of effort and time into making this fabulous dinner for people and people eat it, but nobody compliments you or even thanks you. That's how I feel with this blog. Blogging is a lot more than just opening the program and writing down stuff, but I won't get into everything I do for it. And I'm not using this post to make people read this, or follow me, or comment. I'm writing this post to inform everyone why I may not be continuing with this blog.

So this may or may not be my last post, I'm still on the fence.

A Weekend of Delicious Eats

Who's not excited for the end of the weekend? *raises hand* Me me me!! Not only was I able to relax, but I had some delicious food as well (and some not so delicious).

Some delicious strawberry and toasted coconut fro-yo.
I have no idea how I could eat this considering it's been raining and freezing around here, but hey, gotta feed my sweet tooth!

I practically jumped at these chips when I was at Starbucks because I looooooove sweet potatoes.
Unfortunately these chips weren't up to my expectations.
They say low-sodium and they use sea salt which I've personally found to be saltier so you don't have to use as much...these chips made me feel like I was licking straight salt. Far too salty and I doubt I'd get them again.

Speaking of my sweet tooth, I'm obsessed with this cake.
Also, the one on the left is mine, the one on the right is my boyfriend's.
I wouldn't eat both....or at least post about it! Kidding...sort of, ha!
Anyway, my super wonderful boyfriend took me out to get cake because I was absolutely dying for this cake.  He's such a sweetie, like this cake! Alright, no more cheesy lines from me tonight.

These two wonderful things were my breakfast this morning.
I went to a bagelry with my boyfriend and got the best "tea" I've ever had in my life and a whole wheat bagel with bacon, cheese, and eggs. If I didn't make amazing homemade bagels I'd go here just to buy their whole wheat bagels. Holy wow they were amazing!
And I got to run into an old high school friend I haven't seen in years which was a wonderful surprise :)

Look what I found at Trader Joe's this weekend?
Pre-made wheat pizza dough....heaven!
What will I do with it? I'll be posting that this weekend.

I've also got a new adventure on the horizon for me. I live near this beautiful state park that's wonderful for hiking and I definitely plan on getting my butt moving once the rain finally lets up around here. If I'm going to go hiking through the forest I need to have the right shoes so I went out and bought these amazingly comfortable hiking shoes.
Normally I would just go out and buy some sneakers from Payless rather than spend $40+ on a pair of hiking shoes. Fortunately my mom was keeping an eye on the ads for me and found these shoes for $20 which are normally priced at $50. 60% off?! Thank you! I snatched these puppies up and can't wait to put them to good use. I'll definitely post about my hikes once I can get out there.

Any good eats from this weekend?
Starting any new adventures?

WIAW and a Change of Plans

Is it just me or has this week draaaaaagged?
I woke up thinking it was Thursday and realized it was only Wednesday, sigh.
But since it is Wednesday it's time for What I Ate Wednesday with Jenn!

Breakfast:
Cottage cheese with maple brown sugar oatmeal with some dried fruit
Snacks:
Unpictured plum and Goldfish
I guess I was so excited to eat them I didn't take a picture, whoops!
Lunch:
Turkey and cheddar Lunchable....I'm a kid, whatevs

Dinner:
Steak, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, and Texas garlic toast
My wonderful boyfriend took me out to dinner cause I was craaaaaaaving steak. You ever have those days where you only want one kind of food and nothing else will do? That was me last night.

I maybe also had some unpictured mini Reese's peanut butter cups....maybe.

Anyway, on to my change of plans!
I mentioned before how I was going to be trained to be a personal trainer by my buddies at the gym. It was a wonderful opportunity, but when I looked over my schedule coming up I realized I wouldn't have any time. Between working, school full-time, going to the gym for myself, coaching a cheer team, and having time for my boyfriend and our adorable cat I just realized I was overloading myself. Thankfully my buddy, Tony, was super cool with it and said whenever I want to start training, just let him know.
So, while I may not become a personal trainer now, I am still going to school to be one...it's just gonna take some more time.

Does anyone else eat Lunchables anymore or is it just me?

Getting to Know Someone

Whenever I come across someone's blog I always want to know who that person is. Sometimes I can just read their profile and get an understanding of who they are and other times I'll read back through past posts (creeper much?). I came across this survey by Haley at Health Freak College Girl and thought this would be a fun way to get to know me.

A is for age: 20 going on 21 this year! Whoot whoot!

B is for breakfast today: Strawberry Greek yogurt with homemade granola & whole wheat toast

C is for currently craving: Fro-yo, even though it hasn't gotten higher than the 50's around here
Delicious!

D is for dinner tonight: Oatmeal, whoo!

E is for favorite type of exercise: Zumba! Dancing and working out combined is heaven to me

F is for an irrational fear: Whales. They're huge!
It's a whale shark, but same principle! How terrifying is that?!

G is for gross food: Tuna. I can't stand the smell or flavor at all. As in, someone has a tuna sandwich and I have to leave the room or I'll be physically ill.

H is for hometown: Aptos, California

I is for something important: Family- I'd do just about anything for mine.

J is for current favorite jam: I've been listening to Michael Buble lately. I adore his voice.

K is for kids: My adopted child, Ari

L is for current location: somewhere in Santa Cruz County

M is for the most recent way you spent money: I bought chocolate frosting for my Guinness chocolate cake on St. Patty's Day. Dark chocolate frosting too...heaven

N is for something you need: a bathing suit so I can start swimming at my gym and a new car since my poor Explorer is trying to die on me

O is for occupation: working at an insurance brokerage--definitely not the most exciting thing

P is for pet peeve: Smacking while you're eating or eating with your mouth open

Q is for a quote:
 True for everything

R is for random fact about you: I can watch all 3 Lord of the Rings movies and quote the dialogue...extended editions. I can also listen to the soundtrack and tell you the exact scene it's from. Obsessed much?

S is for favorite healthy snack: Green Monster smoothie. So delicious and refreshing after an intense workout.

T is for favorite treat: Chocolate mousse. Holy crap I can eat bucketfuls of this stuff.

U is for something that makes you unique: Hmm, I guess that my eyes change color randomly. Not just because of the weather or what I'm wearing, they change by themselves randomly.

V is for favorite vegetable: Sweet potatoes. I can eat these foreeeeeeeever

W is for today’s workout: 1 hour of Zumba. Getting my dance on!
But it's so much fun!

X is for X-rays you’ve had: Wrist and ankles from sprains

Y is for yesterday’s highlight: Getting a mattress for my boyfriend's place so we don't have to sleep on the ground anymore. Exciting right?

Z is for your time zone: Pacific

Let's hear about you!
