WIAW: Finally!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!!
Holy batman has it been a busy week. School is harder this semester than ever and I have less time working as well so it's been busy busy busy.
However, in my physiology-homework-haze I actually remembered to take pictures of my food for our awesome Wednesday party with Jenn and her adorable daughter
www.peasandcrayons.com
Breakfast:
Perfect Fit pancake from Tone It Up with bananas, almonds, cinnamon, and a drizzle of maple syrup

Post Workout Snack:
 Strawberry pomegranate kefi

Lunch:
2 slices of pizza with pepperoni removed

Snacks:
2 teeny tiny organic Gala apples
Carrots with hummus

Dinner:
Whole wheat spaghetti with roasted asparagus and pesto with a hunk of garlic bread

I'm thankful I actually remembered to eat! I've been trying to make sure Michael has food for work which forces me to prepare my food too rather than the "oh I'll figure it out when it's time" mentality.

Have a great week everyone!!

Valentine's Day 2014

Happy Monday everyone!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed watching the Olympics wind down.
I realized I hadn't done a recap of my Valentine's Day yet so I figured I'd get it out there before it's been too long!

I didn't take too many pictures because I wanted to just enjoy the day.

Valentine's Day morning Michael took me out to get breakfast and I got some chocolate chip pancakes cause...yum! He brought me some gorgeous roses
I mean really, so many I needed two vases!

After breakfast I had to go to work and afterwards Michael picked me up so we could drive to San Jose to our gorgeous hotel

It's absolutely stunning!

We relaxed a bit and I inhaled these amazing bruleed strawberries Michael made while I was at work.
He made a marshmallow whip and dipped the strawberries in them and then bruleed them. They were aaaaaamazing. I ate I think like 8 of them.

We got ready and headed over to the restaurant for our delicious dinner. They did a special Valentine's Day dinner that started with a complimentary champagne cocktail. Our first course was a crostini with Humboldt Fog cheese & a cherry and then a mini artichoke split in half, stuffed with a creamy cheese, and fried. Our salad was a mixed greens salad with a black truffle vinaigrette. My main course was a lobster tail and filet mignon with a chantrelle mushroom brandy sauce with a saffron risotto. Michael's main course was a lobster tail and a rosemary garlic lamb chop with a potato gratin. We split a dessert of a chocolate mousse cake shaped like a heart dusted with gold dust, two chocolate covered strawberries, and pistachio brittle.
The whole dinner was absolutely amazing and delicious, my man spoils me so much!
Plus I was happy to have a reason to dress up

After we got back to the hotel room we gorged on more chocolate covered strawberries that Michael made.
He's such an amazing man and I'm beyond lucky that he's mine :)

WIAW: Bad Habits

Hey there everyone!
Happy Wednesday and happy WIAW party!
www.peasandcrayons.com
Usually I'm much better about taking pictures of my food, but I haven't been thinking straight lately and forgetting practically everything. But here goes the very few pictures I've got

Breakfast:
Perfect Fit protein pancakes from Tone It Up with almonds and blueberries
Yogi Muscle Relaxation tea

Snack:
 Clif bar

Dinner:
1/2 grassfed burger on a whole wheat bun

I'm not going to lie, lately my eating has been horrible. I haven't felt like I'm in control of anything as of late and I always feel like I'm trying to play catch up. I keep eating crap, knowing I'm eating bad food, and yet I can't stop. After I'm done eating I feel absolutely crappy and yet I can't stop this vicious cycle.
I've tried so hard to keep to start the week over and try to eat healthy and yet 2 days into the week I'm begging for pizza or cake.
I feel completely lost and not sure how to get my footing back.
Awhile back I wrote about my eating disorder called orthorexia, while not considered an actual eating disorder, it's still legitimate. As a personal trainer I try so hard to set the right example for everyone. I try to workout all the time and eat right and yet I can't lately and it's made me incredibly upset. I feel like everytime I eat something that isn't "healthy" I feel like I need to swing hard in the other direction and yet all it does it push me to keep eating unhealthy crap.
How am I supposed to set the right example if I can't even follow it myself?
It's been an ongoing battle for weeks, even months now and I'm lost.

Anyway, sorry for the downer everyone, but I needed to get it out there!
Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

WIAW: Back in the Game

Happy Wednesday everyone!
I hope none of you have turned into icicles yet! I sure feel like I am and it's in the low 50s here so I shouldn't complaining, but it's still cold.
But this isn't a pity party for winter, it's a party about healthy eats and happiness!
Thank you Jenn for this bright spot in the week to showcase some delicious eats!

Morning Snack:
Delicious Fuji apple from my local farmer's market and a little Babybel cheese
I've started going to my local farmer's market weekly now to stock up on such amazing produce. I eat as organic as I possibly can and even then, nothing tastes as good as my local organic produce. It's aaaaamazing. Plus, how many places have farmers markets in the winter?!

Lunch (& Afternoon Snacks)
Baked sweet potato with a little butter and nutritional yeast
Hardboiled egg
Celery sticks with hummus

Dinner:
Bean & cheese whole wheat quesadilla with sour cream

Dessert:
Melted dark chocolate and strawberries
How many people can say they get organic local strawberries in February huh? It's amazing!

Now that I've bragged like crazy about my delicious local eats, how have you stayed healthy with the winter weather?
